JFDP Alumnus Rasid Hadzovic and his students work on developing a textbook of Solved Static Problems for future students
JFDP alumnu Rasid Hadzovic and his students teamed up to help develop a book that will help with the instruction of Static problems for a long time to come.
As of now, these problems are taught using books from 1962. New books are needed, books which are in Bosnian and which conform to the demands of the Bologna Declaration. To begin forging a solution to this problem, Mr. Hadzovic asked his students to solve problems from Static, writing all the claculations using MS Word and drawing the results using AutoCad. The result was a collection of solved-problems that can form the basis of a script-book for future Engineering students. Along the way, students gained valuable practice in solving problems and using computer technology.
"Some of the students don't know how to type in MS Word, or to draw in AutoCad," said Hadzovic. "The project makes them learn."
For now, Mr. Hadzovic is making copies of the students work to share with his future students, but he hopes he'll be able to make real textbooks in the future.
